What is Norðleið?

Norðleið (The Northern Way) is the name I have given to the personal spiritual path that emerged through decades of experience, reflection, relationship, and exploration.
It is not a religion.

It is not a church.
It is not a doctrine.
It is not an attempt to recreate the past.
Norðleið is simply the name of the path I walk.
Its roots reach into many places: the old nature-based traditions of Northern Europe, teachings shared by elders, the Sacred Pipe, the natural world, the land beneath my feet, relationships with Spirit, and the lessons learned through a lifetime of experience.
At its heart, Norðleið is a path of relationship.
Relationship with Spirit.
Relationship with the natural world.
Relationship with ancestors.
Relationship with story.
Relationship with the land.
Relationship with the Great Mystery that exists beyond names and understanding.
The path continues to evolve because I continue to evolve.
Norðleið is therefore not a finished system of beliefs.
It is a living path.
A record of what has been learned.
A framework for understanding experience.
A way of walking through the world.
Above all, Norðleið remains personal.
Others may find ideas within it that resonate with their own journeys, but each person must ultimately walk their own path.
Just as no one can walk mine for me.
